We have a 2" slit system on our Sandman van and ute and we are looking for ideas on which muffler sounds the best. I believe we have a choice of Berklee or Lukey. I have had suggestions for the Burkley 615/615s and the Lukey Super Turbo LT17730.
We don't want our 253 with a mild cam to sound like crap
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I would suggest one single Lukey muffler with a two in two out setup. So twin system one muffler. Twin system with twin mufflers give them the thong slapper sound.
I've been told that thong slapper sound can be eliminated by a balance pipe between the 2 lines if 2 separate pipes/mufflers. And it usually only occurs with the 'turbo' style mufflerOriginally Posted by wbute

I've only got a single system (at the moment) on my van with a short, almost straight through single muffler and it sounds pretty good (especially with the tailgate open!), so I reckon a single muffler splitting into a dual system might be worth thinking about.
Lukey have always been good mufflers, I'd trust them to make a tough sound.

im just gunna shut me mouth its really a personal choice if you take one these idears here and dont like it you payed the money for something your not happy with hmmmm but someone might be right your van your call good luck

Definately the sound (as James pointed out) and the glass packed mufflers are a very good flowing muffler for the money. I've got a pair on my ute, twin 2 1/4 system with pacemakers but no balance pipe. Does have a bit of crackle in over-run but sounds crisp and clean throughout the rev range.
Mine is a 308/TH400 with a taaaaaalllll diff which means that it moves a lttle slower through the rev range unlike a manual box with a shorter diff. Does make a difference to how an exhaust 'sounds'. I like my set up but it wont work for everyone.
