The only reason I would like to know is I plan to buy a replacement dizzy and Carby, I was thinking of a budget electronic dizzy and std style Quadrajet. any advice on what to look out for or ask for when I buy them would be appreciated

7th October 1973. Can also mean 1983 or 2003 but the casting on the side will tell. 308 on one side is 1973. 308 on both sides is 1983. 5.0L or blank on both sides is 1993.

Engine number is QT. Definitely 73.
