    Funny you say that.

When I was at school,(way back in the 70's) I remember reading a Wheels magazine (may have been Modern Motor) that ran an article on car colours and what was most visible on the road.

Obviously yellow and orange were at the top, but the worst colour was silver for visibility from a distance. It seems to appear as the same colour as the road on a sunny day and on dull and rainy days its almost invisible.

I like silver cars (old ones with the cool trim colours), but I don't think I'd buy a new one.

Yeah, that's the ultimate in my book.

When I was about 7 or 8, my Dad had a HD ute that was silver with a red interior. I didn't like it then, but now it seems so cool.

When did you last see a modern car in silver with red trim? It's been a long time.
V2 CV8 and VU utes. I almost bought a V2 CV8 with red trim on silver but after I drove an auto one (black trim) I dropped the manual like a hot potato! I tried to buy a new VY SS ute with red trim but they dropped it at the end of VU, only offered blue or black leather in VY, but that was with white.

Yeah I remember that trim, but it was really a black/grey cloth with red shapes in it, not solid red trim like a HK Monaro. I had that trim in a VX SS I owned back in 2003.

from my experience they offered solid red leather with red, silver or black exterior in the VY and VZ SS utes

Red leather in a CV8, they were leather only.

You could only get Redhot leather trim in VY SS ute with Redhot or Phantom paint. Only Bermuda Blue or Anthracite (black) leather with Heron paint in VY SS ute, and Sh!thouse only had Anthracite. You could only get VY SS ute in 4 x colours: Sh!thouse green, Heron white, Redhot or Phantom Mica. Silver and maybe yellow were added in maybe VY II or VZ.

When I first looked at replacing my VSIII S with an SS VUII was on sale, and its colours were Heron, Redhot, Phantom, Hyper Mica (that metallic poo-yellow) and Delft blue. Leather trims were Hyper yellow, Redhot and Anthracite and I think you could get any trim on any colour so you could get Phantom with Yellow leather trim! Or yellow metallic with red or yellow leather trim. VU never had leather option.
