If some will have you believe that HSV isn't a Holden then a HX base model grill isn't a HJ grill its a HX grill - isn't it ?

A HZ body isn't a HX body I suppose either even though they carried over .....
The grille is HJ Holden, Belmont, Kingswood, GTS or Premier (discounting paint variations) or HX Holden and Belmont (except XX7, XU3 and BO6). As others have said the steel grille on HQ-HZ cab-chassis (except BO6) are HQ-HZ cab-chassis grilles (again paint or chrome differences aside). Same as LH-LX Grille being the same, HX and HZ Statesman (except SL/E) grille being the same etc.
Most of the cars retained the same part number for most stuff from nuts and bolts through to major panels.
So what would have been the diff between a HJ base model and a HX base model if the HJ had the same grille as a HX. The dash and ......?

That's right, I remember that now. My old man traded his HQ sedan for a HX sedan, both 6 cyl and the HX couldn't pull a skin off a custard, seriously. He took it back to the dealership after it had only 500 km on it and they gave it a valve grind. Made no difference. 80km an hour was top speed. Was a piece of .... Well you know what I mean.
