Fraudulent paperwork anyone?

Politely, um no, its a different document, it doesnt designate the origin of the vehicle. In any case it would be pretty difficult to fill in every service record with original dealer stamps and stapled receipts. But more than that, I got a sneaking suspicion itwill be printed somewhere in there that the booklet is a replica. Perhaps, if I'm wrong, Rares may soon correct this.

Of course it does, dealers fill in the very first page with all the same details and receipts were rarely ever added to the service and maintenance booklet. "If" it does have replica inside it and I very much doubt it. It would likely say "re-print" and this is even found evident in many genuine GMH documents. Dating is the way to tell them apart with some other small differences. Perhaps the word "Reproduction" would suffice? Either way it seems to me your well out on your own based on responses with this one.

Anyway, my intention earlier in this thread was to canvas opinion on whether somebody should approach Holden about this, and then a day or so after, still awaitng opinion, asked if anybody wanted to supply a contact, I suppose I am beginning to get an answer, however, I'd put that at about 50/50 atm. My approach, was to present my opinion and ask this site if anyone had approached Holden, as is evident in the thread.

This document is fine. It is a genuine GMH paperwork and like all other GMH documents we glean information from them and add it to our collective knowledge.

They don't infringe copyright either though. They are not a reproduction,as far as the add reads anyway. They are NOS I assume.
I can't see any issue with them.
Most people would have thrown these things out the first time they cleaned out the glove box or more so when they sold the car. No one wants their personal details left in the car. You often see them blacked out of the owners manual for that reason.

Ahw shucks. I thought I made a fairly quick discourse on the idea that that the proponent of (a thing) can not be held to be responsible to the end result of (that thing). I used the most obvious and simple examples that came to mind, however I do take your point, perhaps not so polite of me, I hope I can restore that by apologising, peace on earth at this time.

So all good, I hope, but the idea a manufacturer would approve or ignore replication of its own documents by external parties for the means of making profit is um.... well not common.

However the HK booklet is described as a reproduction , licensed by GMH and sold through the Rare Spares dealers. GMH required it to be produced identical to the original copy provided without any date or "Reprint".For those seeking to make their restoration look original the HK booklet meets that need. GMH legal would likely refer any issues about copy documents to the individual state authorities such as the RTA or Stolen Car Squad if it looked like fraud. As in all transactions these days the more requirements for authenticity means those doing the wrong thing get as smart just as quick.

I don't like these delivery documents being available..... they should mention reprint or something...

people will be getting HK monaros and re writing the delivered engine number to one which they have is close

soon these original cars will need to be forensically examined for re welded body numbers and ink dating

Always been the case really. Cut out chassis numbers and swapped tags. No doubt there are genuine Sandmans out there that have been rebirthed in the 80's and 90's anyway.

Politely, (in this calm and tranquil new year), thats my other issue with it.
If such a document is filled out unfaithfully in order to improve the value of a car, the information gleaned in the future (by a future generation) may be distorted. I, personally, dont think it's right. However, a good look through the thread shows both different, as well as similar opinion/thinking. In any case this thread is older now, and the ebay auction has ended. I think, come the full restart of the year (around the 10th) I will quietly have an investigate of how GMH veiws the entire matter of the sale of NOS and also reproduced dealer certificates. I am of course reminded that I will eat my hat if they laugh at me. I promise that if that is the case I will arrange a hat eating session (what better way to start the year) Big Grins -Dave.
