HZ RTS dash badge wanted

Hi Mick, I was repairing Rodney and Jennie's HZ GTS fascia's and found one had the normal stick on badge over the raised bump and the other fascia didn't have the raised bump and the badge was held on by two plastic pins.... How common are the pinned on badges on HZ GTS fascia's as this is the first time I have seen this???

Hmmm interesting. Im wondering. Maybe the early HZ GTS dashes had the pins. As they would have used up the HX GTS facias maybe? Out of interested what are the warning lights in this facia Sean? Are they the HX font or HZ font?

I am not too sure about the GTS Dash's. The badge that we used as the production sample came off a Premier or Statesman Dash.

I think what Jason is saying could be right though..

The late HX got the rts also on some models. So this is how it would have been fitted to those HX dashes. =)

The plastic used is ABS the same as the fascia's....:D

The square hole in the badge was so that we could remove the metal RTS plate without damaging the front of the badge. If you have ever tried this, you will know what I am talking about..

In the LX one, it was there already.

When the badges are in place you will not see the hole.

I have a few original stick on ones, they pop off quite easily. They all seem to have the little square cut out in them, never noticed it before.....they are half filled up with glue

HX never got RTS and none were ever badged as such. The RTS upper control arm mounting points were added mid 1977 but this is not RTS, just a part of it.

HX GTS dashes also were silver, so they wouldn't have used up HX ones, but possibly the RTS badge was added as per Rodney's for early HZ's and it was a running change for the moulding for it later. I suspect that if you go looking at any early HZ's (like 9/77 or 10/77) on any fascias they'll be the same, unless of course the one Absinth was working on for Rodney isn't original to the car?
