wb engine number

I have a253 engine no wr 378924 .does anyone know what month and year the casting date should be as im haveing trouble reading it looks like someone tried to grind it off .cheers andrew.

Did 1982 253 have 4.2 cast on side of block or 253 as I think we have a block redecked to look like a wb block.
