    Vinyl Flooring

Not really a technical question so much, more a where do I get.

Does anyone know if you can get vinyl flooring as per original. I had a look on eBay and I can find molded vinyl but it looks nothing like the original (I might as well put in carpet given how bad a match it is)
It's for an ex government fleet ute, all the no options, no radio, no clock, no nothing.

If anyone has any ideas I'd love to hear them.

    Cheers,
    Goat

i got NEW one recently from a member on the site. I cant remember his name but i'll have a look through my messages. It is exactly as per original. They are quite costly brand spankers at around $450 when i was looking a year or two ago. I would suggest a crummy loop pile carpet for $80-$90

I have never heard of "Rubber Floor Mat' being called vinyl flooring!

There is a bloke in Melbourne named Martin Frigo and his company Obsolete Rubber Mats.

Martins stuff is exact to original (at least the early Holden one are).

Hope that helps you out Goat.

Thanks Innuendo, that looks perfect, bookmarked the page.

Also, cheers dave, I'll be putting on the respo and bagging the falling apart flooring into the bin later on. I've got some loop carpet in the corner so that can go in for now.

Not sure if it is the same company as mentioned here, however there was a company advertising in the 'Just Parts' magazine a while ago.

Oh Goat, if only I had listened to my self and not my wife!

When I got my van it had a really good rubber floor mat and I told my wife "I'm going to keep this.....someone will need it". She of course told me how stupid that was because "Nobody would want a rubber floor mat when they could have nice carpet".
After I got my new carpet from Knox and fitted it, I had to agree, it really is nice. So I chucked the floor mat out in the annual council clean-up.

Sorry Mate, I knew someone would want it.
Vans.... This is the 2nd time round the block, 40 years later! talk about turning back the clock!

    Try nobullaccessories.com.au
They list them under car floor coverings.

One material used these days is a spray on Urethane put onto a mould taken off the original mat. So it looks similar. The layers are sprayed on until the required thickness is met. the original RUBBER floor mats were moulded in a huge press at South Australia Rubber. Like a lot of materials today it is used as some of the older ones are now considered toxic or harmful.
