    Expensive vans

Sometimes we all question the value of HQ-WB vans, especially Sandmans. Maybe the future for them isn't all that bad, look at the bidding and asking prices of some of these:

Great EH, beautiful thing but $23k and reserve not met? In Mt Isa QLD

Another beautiful EH van, and at least has a decent driveline, but $40k? In Brisbane.

A Survivor FJ van. $46k in Brisbane.

I'm hoping I might find a HX a lot cheaper than those. LOL. What do you think of that mint green colour or even Papaya like my ex painted his 'Q'ee (as he called it.)

I think supply and demand will gradually move the price up on HQ - WB series as numbers dwindle. That's also assuming that they maintain their classic car status across younger generations.

A 10yo kid today will be right in the money making phase of his life in 20-30 years. Will he want to splash out on a 1970's HQ Monaro, or an old school VZ Calais (last of the Oz built Holdens) from a car company that might not exist in 2034?

I love all 3 of those I posted, just can't see the $ in them. But it only takes 1 buyer.

Damien, the last of the proper Oz built Holden is VZ. VE-VF are very much more "Assembled in Australia" than "Made in Australia". Don't be surprised if we can still buy a V? that is fully imported in 3-4 years time.

Thanks HK, post now edited for accuracy. Thinking about the 'value' of old Holden's, i am amazed at the demand for Torana's. Definitely a classic line of cars, but are they worth the going rate? I guess they are if one buyer thinks so.
