    Fraudulent paperwork anyone?

Luckily these are 9/77 so not too many cars that can be dodged up to fool someone as most of the good stuff pre-dates this. But a few HZ GTS's and Sandmans could possibly be falsified as "complete with books" using one of these.

I have some of them. Genuine. Un filled in. I considered a while back doing them as a reproduction but considered it as wrong.

That sort of stuff is what wrecks any genuine certificate, in that it puts doubt in the buyers mind for anything they see.

My SL/R Torana has no paperwork from new. I bought it from a farmer in Queenbeyan and it's only got one tag. I don't care, I have seen these cars from new and have owned dozens, so I can pick a fake pretty well, especially an original un-restored one. My SL/R is the real thing.

But..... I know when I sell it I'm going to have all sorts of doubters because nobody believes anybody anymore.

These fake (or old stock original) certificates just make things worse.

This sort of thing really is shitty in my opinion, its got to be soooooooo illegal. It means somebody can be fooled into paying up to 20 or even 30k for a car thats worth heaps less. It also quietly devalues genuine article without an exsisting ID Cert. Ebay obviously wouldnt act to stop this, but maybe Holden would. Is there any easy way Holden can be made aware? Whos got a contact we can send the link to?

I don't think it is illegal until fraud is committed. Is it fraud if you put all the correct information on there?

Yep. Its falsification of a document. Passing a document off as if it is original when it is not.

I would think it would have to be illegal. What would you put in the section 'dealers stamp and signature' ?

I am not sure if it is illegal to sell the blank certificate however. Possibly in each state and territory, it is, somewhere in the RTA and associated legislation, rebirthing vehicles etc.
It's certainly fraud to fill it out and provide it with a vehicle for sale without explaining that the document is re-created, and by whom, date etc.

Any way, anyone have an easy contact at Holden in this area?
