    what headers fit

Hi guys, we're in the dead of winter here in Ohio so time to get back to work on the Sandman! Finally got my motor mounts a couple of weeks ago from Rare Spares for adapting the 350 Chevrolet. They were exactly what I needed, thanks guys for the help with those. I did end up having to add about 3/8" thick steel plates between the motor mounts and the block to get me enough clearance between the cross member and the oil pan but we got that worked out now. Does anyone have any experience with what headers will fit the 350 Chevrolet in this 77 HX?

Hi Don, best to look say on EBay's Australian site for quite a few sellers selling 350 extractors to suit HQ-Z. Don't know whether freight cost to you puts it out of the question.

You could try a set of 350 chev block huggers, we use these in a variety of hotrods and they work well.

I'm pretty close to Summit and I have tried a couple of different versions but haven't had much success. If someone is already making something that will fit the bill, I'd rather spend a little extra money and ship them over. I do a lot of international shipping with Fed-Ex and get pretty good rates. I'll look into those Pacemakers. Thanks for the help guys!!

I would be buying Pacemakers but other brands exist.

A search on www.ebay.com.au using the search term "Chev to HQ-HZ Extractors" turns up many options.

    Yep, what Innuendo said.

They may cost a bit more initially, but Pacemakers will fit without problems and save you a lot of time and trouble modifying something from a Camaro or Corvette. 70 Chevelle might be close, but you may run into trouble with the right hand drive steering linkages.

You ARE keeping it right hand drive aren't you!!!!?????
Vans.... This is the 2nd time round the block, 40 years later! talk about turning back the clock!

Definitely keeping right hand drive. I'm not hacking anything up on the car, just changing the motor and tranny. Trust me, I got to great lengths not to alter anything so it could always be taken back to 100% original down the road. I did write to Hi-Tech headers this morning, how do they compare to the Pacemaker headers? I don't mind spending more if the Pacemakers are a better way to go. I'll look them up.

Just make sure you ask them that whichever ones you buy fit the box you are using behind the Chev.
