That is silly. We used to chuck these in the bin. There was a dozen of them at the locak Holden wreckers when it basically shut down last year.

I bought one just before Christmas in great nic for $130. I thought that was quite fair.
You don't get much for that any more and I was quite happy.

    Interesting thread.
Just for curiosity's sake what is the wheel from in the second picture at the begining
    of the thread.
The reason I ask is that I have one of those type of caps that it has on it and have always wondered what it was from.
    Cheers Paul.

My wifes old SS Torana had a blank cap. HX Sandmans had it. Not sure about the HJ sandman I think it had the same cap as HQ sandman as the font type was the same.

    GTS cap

    Thanks guys.
Now with that information it has twigged the memory and I think it came from a HX van I bought many years ago for the black GTS dash and the GTS steering wheel it had on it.
It was the same colour as this pic of Leroys.
    http://gallery.oldholden.com/Mr_Jone...p_001.jpg.html.
I have wondered in recent years if it was a sandman but it had the 9942992 tyre placard on it.
So if I have it right 4.2 Litre Eng. 10 cwt. Panel Van
    Cheers Paul.

So is the new wheel from Rares up=to-spec? A mate had one years ago is his HQ wagon (308, M21) it was a OEM wheel though and it was great to drive with. That wag was awesome too! Brown with a white roof and Long Grain Gazelle interior. Ahhh the 70's, such a special time of style.....
