Does anyone know for sure where were the antennas fitted on a HJ. N/S guard, O/S guard, O/S front pillar or Roof? Cheers Dawso.

I personally always thought they were on the LHF guard (when fitted) and Statesman had them on the LHR guard.
BO6 = Rarer then a Sandman
Every Sandman I ever saw back then had a roof aerial. Nobody drilled holes in GTS Guards without a good reason ( and I can't think of one), but left hand guard was usually the preferred spot on HJ's.
If you check out Sandaro's avatar, his HJ has it on the left guard.
My HJ ute also has it there, but it 's not the original guard.

Vans.... This is the 2nd time round the block, 40 years later! talk about turning back the clock!
It is the left hand guard but
roof aerials look way cooler![]()
The passenger side guard in line with the rear edge of the bonnet when it's fully open. A great example of this in 'it happened in a holden'

"It happened in a Holden"
That's what she said.
I think the reason you see so much variation of the antenna location in Sandmans, is that radios were not a standard factory fitting in those cars, as they were in say Premiers or DeVilles.
Most Sandmans left the new car dealership with either no radio or an aftermarket dealer-fitted item.

I worked in car audio many moons ago ,Lots of cars came from the factory with out radio's/aerials .
These cars where dealer fitted.
The center roof aerial didn't come out till the late 70's,hence why you see more Hz-Wb with that aerial .
To tell if one was fitted at a dealer it will be inline with the rear view mirror, as it was removed and holes drilled then aerial fitted through the hole as not to remove the hood lining.
Aerials where mostly fitted to the left front guard as holden already had a hole in the body to run the cable, along with some crap about the aerial if fitted to the right guard was an obstruction of vision,Hence also why early jap cars have it fitted to the A pillar(rx2,3,4, coralla's )
Also from memory a lot of Hz Gts's left the factory with an you bute "electric aerial " which was also mounted in the left guard
