not sure about tags

im looking at tags on hj sandman panelvan ,the left tag 10/75 2 seater plate stamped from behind, middle tag 8m70rfj499128j stamped from behind and also the f should be an e for 1975 posibly a stamping mistake but the right plate is stamped on front unpainted hj8wm70,167276-a,1888-19v,568-15951,l32,m20,gu4 interior correct ,colition white colour correct but the right hand plate being stamped from top has thrown me ,was the tooling changed at dandenong late 75 find it odd 2 tags stamped from behind and other on front,tried to upload photos from phone and laptop but wont upload ,has anyone else got tags stamped the same way cheers andrew.

Yes mate, the tags for '75 HJ Adelaide body were stamped like that. Go to the 'mysandman Home' page and check out 'HJ Identification' good reading there

Andrew the body from your van was made in Elizabeth (but it was assembled in Dandenong) and therefore had the stamped down body plate. About the middle of Oct 75 the Elizabeth plates went to the embossed style like all the other plants. Another of the quirks with the numbers is that the model year swaps over on the 1st Sept and so your tag is correct in showing an F for 1976
