    Original paint colour help.

I believe this is a genuine sandman but it is missing the Body Id Plate. Can anyone help with finding the Original paint colour? It does have the Compliance Plate and VIN plate (pictures included). Thank you Karl. 20141103_160025.jpg20141103_160036.jpg

No idea if it's possible to know other than looking for some original paint. It's a 308 made in Melbourne though.

Ok thanks wbute Will have to wait until it goes to be stripped back and see what we find. Out of interest how did you get that it was made in Melbourne? From what I understand L1-L5 on the VIN = Adelaide.
Also would there likely be some data base somewhere that may have older records of the van?

Looks like an N for the luxury level hence a Kingswood van and not a Sandman. It was originally an auto too so originall L31 M41.

Look in a close up its 8M70TGL358960X
So it's Belmont with a High comp 308 Adelaide build,
but how many Belmont's had a seating cap of 2/?
G is 1977 but on the other plate it says 1976?

It's a 77 model, the model year starts on1st September so it is a September 76 build but a 77 model.
The luxury level is M so makes it a base model, could be Sandman, thats the hardest part with an HX, unless it is Brisbane built or 18V trim it is so hard to tell if it is genuine or not.

The one Clue is the seating cap as 2.how many base models would have had that.
    so maybe?

Long shot to base anything on the seating capacity. It doesn't matter what evidence there is, without the other tag people will always question what it is.

If it is an M it is a 5.0L TH400 with buckets, unusual but not rare on a HX Holden van outside of Sandman. It looks like 2200kg GVW too which makes a Sandman less likely. In any case not worth spending bulk money on without the other tag.
