Running at Silhouette in Campbellfield atm.....agree, each track has its unique set ups. Like with any motorsport, its about fine tuning/balance & set up to get the best results/performance. Theres at least a dozen tracks between Silhouette and Oakley...i'll work my way through them eventually.

Some people just have to push the limit. A bloke up here had an R6 in one and it was evil.

Have a new indoor carting track not too far from home at Albion Park will give it a go and an outdoor one at Kembla Grange I have tried twice, today I had an awesome experience doing 5 laps of Mount Panorama at Bathurst was given a gift voucher by my 3 daughters and put some more money towards it so I could tackle the mountain , huge respect for those guys that strap themselves in race cars and take this on, my car on the day was an old VZ and I think maybe they put speed limiters on them was just under 200klm before the chase best fun was climbing the mountain and coming back down just ends way too quick by the time you start to get some rhythm its time to bring her in.

if you're not racing properly for example just doing track days to keep the cost down i buy 2nd hand tyres. i usually get a set with almost full tread for $80....
they are tyres the pros might use for a practice run etc so they have bugger all wear.

Spot on. This is pure recreation.....unless mates are there ...then sh!t gets real

Just got a set of Dunlop SL1As for $50....stacks of life left. Thought i'd try the Dunlops.....MG reds are great...i find the MG yellows a little too soft. Have been told the Dunlops are in between reds & yellows. Soon find out

you have a clubman kart which is designed to run mg reds only the mg yellow are for roatex or lepoard class which happens to be the quickest classes of all and the dunlops are for senior national light or juniors if your running in the wet best you get the dunlop wet tyres which have nobbys tyre pressure is funny thing depends on the track and the weather average day l would put 14 lb all round cold day 15 to 16 in about 8 to 10 laps tyres will gain about 2lb you can make them come on quick but they soon go off quick as kart will start to slide thats if you put to much air in them have fun

    Thanks for the info mate

Rotax will be a natural progression I think. Always want to go faster.
Yeah tyre pressures are one of those experimental things where tweaking on the day to find what works best.
It's all about fun though... Bunch of mates... Bragging rights... Friendly rivalry and grease under the finger nails.

You still have a kart mate? Would be cool to meet up and hammer a few laps
