I actually went to the Auto Paint shop today and tried to get some. They sell the BASLAC range that I used to high-fill prime the van in. I gave the man the following information but no luck. He had no idea what any of that meant.

    Warragul Black
    Dulon Paint Code – 578-4149
Paint Type – Dulon Medium Gloss Interior
    Tinter Setting
    05431 450
    03038 500

What information do I need to give them to get this mixed?

5431 is Black tinter and 3038 is flattening base, so 450ml of black and 500ml of flattener

Thanks Leroy... is that all I need, the guy didn't seem to interested to look up anything.

Someone on the Torana forum posted these numbers.
    Valspar
    TB540
    TB543-787
    CT112-862

...and yet someone else had this. "Dulux now ppg code is 578-00990 less 65% flatner .. "

I don't know much about paint tinting so Ill try again. :-)

We need a paint section where we put these codes for common restoration colours. Im just amazed they don't have a comprehensive database of these in the shop.

It isn't Warragul, just medium gloss black.

This is an 8/74 Elizabeth HQ original firewall, plus I have inner guard and radiator support photos displaying the same clear over black. They obviously introduced the HJ's clear overcoat earlier in conjunction with HJ limited production.
It is only the firewall that have the grey-ish tinge too on the Elizabeth firewall, the inner guards and radiator support are straight black.

My 5/74 is the same... its pealing off and looks kinda burnt in areas.

I have to paint the firewall because I have welding up the extra holes everywhere. :-)

Seems like it is the semi-gloss black then. :-)
