That is what a Holden was like though in 1974. It is what people expected. If you were a tradesman you might opt for a ute or tonner with a 202 or 253 with discs, possibly a 4spd as in 1974 manuals were still the big seller (by 1977 autos were far more common). My parents both had HQ's, mum's a 202 3spd Kingswood wagon, dad's a Belmont ute 173 3spd. Even the WB van that replaced the ute was pretty basic especially compared to mum's 1981 Cressida.
Especially the early 1980 WB Holden front, they dropped it later that year. What is ugly is the WA Kingswood sedan, which was a mixture of HJ Statesman body with the WB Kingswood front. I saw one again last week at Birdwood.
