Why would the refs be heavy thinkers when the players aren't?

They too are able to lift heavy things and drink the bitterest of beer and the boganest of bourbon.

Yep same argument I hear all the time. Doesn't change the fact that Soccer is boring and that any game where you kick the ball as an integral part of the game is called Football. If you want to use the ridiculous argument that Soccer is the only Football as the players use their feet then take a good look at a keeper and remove their use of their hands.

Don't know about you blokes but I was sport mad from a very early age and represented my state and country. I have been on building sites since I was 14. That's a lot of smokos and lunches sitting down with other tradesmen. Never ever to this day have I heard anyone bring up the subject of soccer.....ever !! Maybe because my surname doesn't end in 'S'

Sport is like cars we all like different ones but imho sports like Soccer Aussie Rules and Rugby there isnt much skill involved at all lets face it haven't we all kicked a ball at one stage of our lives not that hard really was it
apart from Golf and Tennis there really the only 2 ball sports that you really need genuine skill imo
i like all sports have done from a kid but my favourite is womens tennis

Stick to sniffing other blokes backsides and I have heard that a few of you chaps inject your digits into some chaps backsides and leave the thinking stuff to the people that can.

One player catching the ball with his hands doesn't equate to 13 players catching the ball with their hands and where there is only 2 people in the 13 a side game which actually have the capacity to kick a ball apparently and you have to pass it backwards to go forwards and you need a 68 metre wide marker to score, yeah, real difficult, real thinkers game.

At least with AFL there is real skill and real athleticism, real stamina, real thrills and no prostrate check ups on field.

I have worked all over this country and most people have an opinion on most sports, the people that call say the likes of soccer crap are the narrow minded bigots who associate it with some kind of ethnic back ground which is quite funny seeing as it was a game invented by the English and exported world wide, you know the English Dave, some of their names can end in an 'S'.

Most people that declare a hate for a sport I tend to find are usually the ones that have never been successful at any.
