It's caustic soda or "hot tank" as some might call it. It the same stuff your engine block would be cleaned in at an engine reconditioning shop.

OK I just finished an electrolysis tank, seems to be chewing up the rust. I will post some results soon.

Restored a couple of consoles today. I spent a lot longer prepping them (after learning the hard way last time)
I scrubbed with hot soapy water, rinsed off, prepsoled, a very thin etch prime. Then used black dye and they both came up well.
I've done 2 at once because I will sell the sedan one... More sandy funds never hurt

I had 2 hours spare this weekend. Sanded air cleaner. Etch primed and painted black. It came up smooth as I even put it in the spray booth before I painted it. (We'll.... next to the fire)
Any one know if them air cleaner stickers of evil bay are any good?

So...$670 later I have 2 really sexy lookin rims.... I probably should of just brought some of them alloy ones I've seen on evil bay for the price. But these do look super sexy. I'm very lucky I already had the rears. No tyres yet.

Got all my rust repairs done. Next up is to bare metal the rest of the body and hi fill

These sections are the worst rust in the van.

I cut these sections out of a mates ute ( the ute is well and truly dead).
