In yesterdays paper there was a story on a guy here in Darwin who had just received his new Tesla, First one in the NT. He waited 5 months for it. The story said it has a 500klm range which is pretty good, although if you drove it like in the video I don't think it would last that long. Wonder how he is going to charge it. So $150K for the car and then you have to install a charging station at home $$$. Agree it makes sense in the cities or as a second car, but price is up there.
Years ago I built a car that was dedicated gas ( as was the rage then ), I removed the other fuel system completely. Seemed great until I ran out of gas one day. What a PITA that was, loaded it on to a car trailer and took it to the servo only to be told I was not allowed to fill it on the trailer??. So pushed it off the trailer to fill, I had steam coming out of my ears by then . Like anything new there will be problems initially, some no one has even thought of.
