I did a resi val for some empty nesters a few years ago. fella was a pro feather back in the day. he followed me around the house dribbling and incoherent... his wife asked me to ignore him. to pretend he wasn't there. A mate of mine is a pro heavyweight and I worry something like this may happen to him.

Very legal to bash someone to death in the ring but highly illegal to even strike someone outside of it???

I didn't know him personally but his dad is a top trainer. Very well known family around town. Very sad really.

I have only just found this thread..(on here)..totally missed it. It is very sad when a person loses their life participating in a sport they love. Nothing can ease that pain. The sport is well regulated, and the Boxer's are highly trained athletes with full understanding of the risk's involved. The Boxer's I associate with are just very ordinary young guy's. They have no attitude and are very respectful, no one could ever pick them for a Boxer outside of the ring. They have not one mark on them.Calling for a ban is just a typical kneejerk reaction, usually from people with no connection with Boxing. Will they ban all other risky sport's?? Skydiving..motorsport..all football??

I agree, ive been associated with boxing and boxers most of my life. Yes people die, but look at young Hughsie and cricket. Boxing is well regulated and quite civilized when compared to that other so called sport of MMA. Now that is gruesome.
