Can't understand why anybody would want tonneau ropes. Ugliest thing since the UC Sunturd or any modern day Toyota. They cover the gordy Sandman stripe breaking the style aspect and are a very antiquated design. That said, filling all those holes that get drilled and ruin the quarter panel is no easy job to get them straight again. If you are NOT going for 100% original perfection and the quarters look straight there is no way I would be drilling out all them holes again.

Real authentic is actually no tonneau cover at all (just like your avatar). I understand if you have an original or wish to go back to original. Just think that they are pretty ordinary looking things, especially when covering a Sandman stripe and tailgate wording.

Are you sure about no tonneau? They were standard on HZ Sandman.

Barry's ute is not a Kingswood, doesn't that mean no hooks originally installed? May have never had holes. I agree with not covering decals, but this would have early style decals, so rope not covering.

So true, I overlooked the fact it is a HJ and would have the cool stripes. I was thrown by Rodney's photo.
