Great quality pics Inners![]()
I can't believe I'm defending someone in a Ford van (hate barn doors too), but I bet they were just as thrilled as anyone else to be there and getting a lap of Mt Panorama.
I'm sure they didn't mean to get in the way of your photos.
Part of the reason I couldn't make it there was because my van is currently not up to the standard of those that attended, but I would have loved to have been there. Hopefully one day I will have something worth taking.
Just remember, we are all panel van lovers.
Vans.... This is the 2nd time round the block, 40 years later! talk about turning back the clock!
Your last bit was the quote everyone needs to listen to. There was some rough vans there. Some tidy vans there. No one needs to go wit the "best" van! There is guys on this forum that will vouch for this! That travelled decent km's! like myself. To be there without a van or with a van that is not "show" class. These guys that travelled he long trip with these rougher van I know like myself possibly had the most fun!
Next year if anyone had a van. It registered and drives ok. Or your like me. You just love the vans and don't own one. You have no excuse!

Great point Rob. Wasn't having a go at anyone for what they have / condition etc. They certainly had as much right as anyone to be there, and I am absolutely sure they had as much fun doing it as we did.
Just being a Holden man, and hoping to show the lap on here, wanted the video to be following the Sandman's that I was originally in line behind.
So where is it next year?
I was all keen to get along this year but as usual life got in the way. Had a full weekend in Melbourne for the cricket final the weekend before and have a 3 day dirtbike ride this weekend. Combine that with the wife having the opportunity to go do her "next year" event (bluesfest at Byron Bay) and a house I needed to get painted meant a quiet cheap Easter at home with the kids.
Big Rob, I've got a roughie as well. We can pair up for the next one as the South Eastern Roughnut Van Club.
HZ Jasmine Yellow Windowless Sandman, now being driven everywhere and is finished!
HZ Madeira Red Windowless sandman now Sold to Bigrob
HX Mandarin Red Sandman Ute finished, and club registered
1979 HZ malachite windowless van with 308 5spd, all chromed up and shiny finished and named "The Player"
Married to RodneyHZ253
You know that Jess and I would as much as we could from over here! I rekon Greg would also be keen to help out. If the time comes and you think of doing it let us know. A simple post on here and I think you would have a few helpers! ;)
