If you want to cart sand buy the correct vehicle. A one tonner.
Glad you said it before I felt I had to. I may not have put it so diplomatically.

Agreed, not fit for purpose. C'mon Rares, cant we fix it? There's obviously buyers out there, the replacement tailgate issue has been the subject of talk for around a decade now.
People will want them for years to come, all that needs to happen is somebody fits the wrong tow bar, lowers the tailgate and..... thump, need a new one again.

I was only using that as an example. Of course most people won't carry sand in their ute but what I was mainly refering to is the gap is critical on a van because of exhaust fumes, where as fumes won't be critical in the tray area.

    Hi.
I managed to get a full refund on mine and they are now only selling as a ute tailgate.

I haven't fitted mine and am in no hurry to do it considering what it will take to get it right, but I'm thinking the only way to close the gap is to split the bottom and weld in a section to increase the thickness in the required area.

Or I'll put it on my ute.

Not sure. I have heard of some thin gauge ones for sale on the net, but certainly not pointing a finger at Kingswood Country. They are worth having a look at for sure, even if they are, I'd rather have a thin one that seals up than a thick one that lets exhaust gases in. I might buy one and have a look...

Don't know if anyone else here has any idea.
