i dont think they have any curve in them mate. the back of the ute/van is a pretty straight line.

I also have a new Rares tailgate put away, thinking it was going to be a better fit than the cheap aftermarket ones. The question now is how to replace tailgate? Get a skin folded up & weld on? About ten years ago we cleaned up a Datto 1200 ute to use for a runabout, buying guards, grille, tailgate. The guards were half an inch longer than original due to worn dies & the tailgate not much better. The edges had to be trimmed with a grinder just to get them to fit
Thank god i bought a NOS one 25 years ago from GMH i have used other after market parts on other Holden and always had problems
Can you still get a skin to go on an original tail gate
Now I'm pissed off!
I have no problem spending money on a good product.
Why would anyone make a product that is supposedly a "replacement part" that isn't an exact copy?
The original tailgate on my van is perfect except where the old bloke that owned it dropped the tailgate on the tow-ball and dented it. It fits and seals and does everything that it's supposed to do. I guess I need to trial fit the new one and see what the story is...., problem is that if I cut the corners out to fit the van it will be impossible to send it back if it doesn't fit!![]()
Vans.... This is the 2nd time round the block, 40 years later! talk about turning back the clock!
a good panel beater will have your existing tailgate repaired in no time Rob
