They are now being sold as "Ute only". The only drama is the gap at the bottom. A ute "MAY" not be as critical because exhaust fumes wont come inside, but having said that, if you were carrying sand, it'd be no good.

I guess the deal is that anyone building a ute now that is going to the trouble of fitting a "new" tailgate isn't likely to be filling the tray with sand.
The repro tailgates are so good looking externally it's such a shame that they just miss the mark with the inside fit.
I hope they re-tool and build some good ones in the future.....
