    Wow, what a storm!

After the 2007 storm we went through here (most people will remember the coal ship on Nobby's beach) I hoped not to get another. Last night was scary, storm was equivalent of a Category 2 cyclone. Luckily no trees down this time (yet!) but big limbs and braches everywhere. I was watching out the windows from about 3am and some of the 200+ year old Ironbarks with like 1200m wide trunks were swaying 2-3m halfway up the trees. The smaller tall trees were whipping around just like grass would when you run your hands through it. It isn't over yet apparently.

Seems its right down the east side of NSW, Canberra got pretty gusty last night, but not scary, I dont think it gusted above 30 but went on for a long time though. (all arvo and night and this morning) minor tree debris everywhere. Just a bit wet. Sydney copped a bit too I hear, not so sure about the 1200 metre wide Ironbarks though, thats a big tree lol! (Yeah I know its a typo, just yah know, be awsome if one existed though)

I had flickering lights and power by the afternoon, the elec authority came and had a look said the case on the fuse to the mains at the eave had cracked, and booked the job, they sorted it last night and they said had heaps of other small jobs on all over town.

Thumbs up to the two electric authority dudes who showed up in a neat little cherry picker at 9:30 pm in the blowy cold last night and went up and changed it in 25 mins or so. Power back on all done by 10pm. It was crap temperature and weather to be working in. Gotta like that!

Oh yep! What a thought! Still windy up there Byron? Been calm here most of the night since about midnight. Hope that big wind blows out to sea, I think its moving around the coast though looking at the map.

Wish the wind and its low pressure system would stay. It's blowing desperately needed rain inland. It won't though as there is a big high pushing through.

Still blowing at least 80-100km/h winds. We had 135km/h or higher overnight. So much water on the ground right now. It raining as hard as I've ever seen and doesn't look like stopping soon.

Very windy all night and now raining continuously, lots of farmers have sown dry so are rubbing their hands together now. I hope you get some

Glad everyone is ok. My cousin, who lives on the NSW central coast, had her car flattened by a large tree on her property, and her house slightly damaged by another, no personal injury thankfully. Her horses and stables were unscathed which she is very pleased about.
