This one hits a bit close to home for me, so please excuse my history lesson....
Back when I went to school (long time ago!), I was top of my class at spelling, punctuation and grammar. All my life I have been able to spell any word and my Wife calls me "the dictionary" (she calls me other things from time to time, but we won't get into that...).
Just over two years ago I had a pretty bad accident on my bike resulting in a wrecked right shoulder, ribs, hip and more importantly, some head injuries. I now suffer from short term memory loss and have lost my ability to spell. Even simple words are now a struggle for me and the harder I try, the tougher it is to picture the correct spelling. It's very frustrating and embarrassing as I seem to see words in a jumbled fashion and when reading things I often get confused with the text.
Where I'm going with this is that most of what I read looks like "bogan's" and when I type my posts I spend a lot of time to try to make them appear correct. I don't know if "bogan" is having a joke with his posts, or is for real (I hope for his sake he's not), but either way he's not doing any harm.
I've got a mate that spells about as well as "bogan" but he can read a micrometre at a glance and calculate the cubic inch displacement of any engine after an overbore, in his head.
Horses for courses!
