LOL, now I don't know the ins and outs of rebirthing a Sandman but did you not see the recent musclecar rebirthing racket busted in Melbourne, very professional. If there's a dollar to be made then they will find a way.

What i'm getting at is the chassis number on a Sandman isn't on the body, it is on the chassis. Other cars like GT's, Toranas, HK-HG etc have the chassis number on the body.
Yeah, true enough, that will make rebirths more difficult, I agree.
Recording and sharing tag details, and asking questions if you're not familiar with these vehicles is the key. And I see a lot of that so doubt anyone will get burnt.
Not hard these days for the pros to restamp a chassis rail & without a xray machine can b hard to pick & has been done b4.
Of course they can, but that is fraudulent and very different to someone building up their own car. Plus such people may be able to stamp a chassis but they do not know:
Where to stamp.
How to stamp (gang air stamp or individual hand stamp).
Variations in chassis construction not only between plants but through Series.
All of these vary such that most re-stamps are identifiable with enough research.
All a lot of time and effort for such a low return - hardly worth it.
anyone who has ever done a body off will confirm this. very f$5kin hard work
