Doesnt mean its a bad van. just take it into account I suppose. If it is matching numbers and in good order then those are minor issues.

hmm. It has heaps of HX bits.
Black mirrors,
dash,
steering wheel,
master cyl (could just be early HZ)
door trims are not HZ Sandman. They look Kingswood? maybe just retrims.
chrome glovebox lock so again its early HZ or HX.

I think its a very nice Van. Im sure the seller knows what it is. But it looks more like a HX sandman with HZ stripes......... But that may have just been the look he was going for.

Skid this is an easy one to convert back to HZ if you wanted. Give me a buzz if you like. Find out the id tag info tho.

Our Yellow van doesn't have colour coded mirrors they are black, but they are GTS mirrors, we will paint them yellow when we respray though.....so does that mean they could be the original mirrors as I thought that Sandmans all had colourcoded mirrors...it is an early HZ too

any comments will be good regarding colour coded mirrors....

I am no expert but I thought HX had black mirrors and HZ had colour coded ones Jennie.


I suppose most sandmans are bittsas put back together just like my ute will be (unless you are lucky and find one like Rod and Jennie in original condition).

It just depends how much effort you put in to finding the bits and how ridgy didge you want it.

Hi Guys

I've been away for 2 days.
didnt mean to create a bun fight.

I asked the question as i value the opinions of people who know more than i do..

I have been looking for a Van that doesnt need much work, and is a good example of a "REAL"Sandman.

Still no reply to my missed calls and the number just rings out.( woulkd make you think that something is being hidden)

I like the look of the van and think that ALL responses have been valuable and taken in the way they were intended.
No one has been nasty or degrading the persons Van.

Thanks again for the helpful comments and i will keep you informed if i manage to contact the sellers mate or whoevers phone number it is.
