As we age it seems more close friends are passing away or some with a debilitating illness. I also retied at young, at 58 was going to be on a trial bases or semi retied many years younger than the recognized retirement age of 65/67+ from seeing friends and family lose there life when just getting to the point of financial satisfaction and able to let their hair down, But again life didn’t make it easy 1 year in and my wife was on life support with a second bout of pneumonia. With little lung capacity left our plans to travel have been put on hold and now enjoying what we can do locally.
I know it’s not for everyone but I feel the time to retire is when you can financially support yourself and enjoy life. Powers to be and media always have trouble distinguishing between those that retire, that can be at any age and the pension age. It is also difficult to understand what we are being told about the life expediency has increased when I personally know many that did not make it to retire or only had a couple of year after.
