Life is too short

Got a call this afternoon from a mate's daughter. He passed away a few days ago aged from memory 56 (or close to 56).

Just a few weeks ago he told me he'd had enough working and was pulling up stumps to retire and travel.

Makes you wonder sometimes.

tis a curious life we live, sux when this happens, and this always takes me back to DR Chris O'Brien story, the man spent the best part of his life helping and curing people with cancer of the head and neck, only to succumb to it himself without enjoying much of it himself.. my folks are in their late 70's both retired early and although both have their health issues, travel regularly and are away 6-7 mths of the year and are about to set of to NYC once again after just returning from hong kong and china, and my mothers motto is "cover the earth before it covers you" and never a truer word spoken, so we must enjoy whist we can
