    Well yeah you can.... if running an auto without a high-stall torque converter it'll get too much fuel when you floor it and bog down. Even worse if you are running a big cam.

    Otherwise, I agree it's a good choice, especially with a manual box.
    Vans.... This is the 2nd time round the block, 40 years later! talk about turning back the clock!

    Any of the mentioned carbies will work fine. You must tune them correctly of course.
    If you have a mechanic who favours one over another it is because he/she understands that make/model.
    One brand over the other? Really doesn't matter.

    Don't try to run dual fuel with a Rochester, accel pumps suffer and gasket dry out and leak. Holley is a better bet. Sounds like you've decided to ditch the gas and if so the Rochester will run your stroker as well on a tidy street engine. If your going to up the ante on a stroker go a larger holley. Holleys aren't the best for smooth idle and fuel economy but work well on cammed up engines.

    the biggest mistake most ppl make on a street engine is to over carb it. I cant recall the number of times we have pulled off a huge annular discharge holley or double pumper or whatever and fitted a 465 holley or similar with a spacer plate and the car has picked up so much power and driveability that is not funny and even the owner cant believe its their same car
    over carb = headache, choose wisely

    The carb on my van was on a gas car. I had to soak the base plate in kero then sit there with a pin and clean out ALL the venturi's as they were blocked with crap.
    Once that was done, re assembled with a carby kit.
    BO6 = Rarer then a Sandman
