    Carbie selection

    Hey everyone,

Firstly a thank you to everyone who helped out on my last thread, was great to hear peoples feed back, from that last thread (help 308 wont start) we have worked out that the 308 will need a new carbie, and just wanted to see if anyone had had any experiences good or bad, with either Quickfuel Slayer 600 cfm, holley 600 cfm, or any reco'd / remanufactured carbies and what they were like for the money?. I'm leaning towards the quickfuel as it seems a bit better value for money, im still running duel fuel through it for now and the engine is still stock for the moment ;D will be looking for something for now but will also be good in a mild 355 stroker later on, that I wont need to go out and buy a whole other one.

    Cheers guys.

Either 600 cfm carby would be fine for a 308 but it wont cut the mustard on a 355 stoker its gunna want more fuel

    I love Holley's and the 600 is perfect for a 308. You need a 780 vacuum secondary (part no 3310/2) for a 355.

A 308 with a 600, Edelbrock Torker manifold, TQ20 sized cam and a set of 4-into1 extractors with a good ignition and you have a great combo for the street.
Vans.... This is the 2nd time round the block, 40 years later! talk about turning back the clock!

Go Rochester a great carb, You just have to have it built correctly.
Had our done for the Brock and for the Van done and no regrets(Brock is putting out 196 Kw)

Rochester defiantly wins my vote. I have one on my 308 Statesman. Very smooth and still smokes the tires easily
