Nothing wrong with customising, credit should be given for siring the pot if nothing else. Sure some things can look hideous and confusing. But the very same could be said about your spelling!
Some Vans looked great with crossover parts from the opposition. In fact I still do it today. We can't all be happy being a sheep as much as the car manufactures want us to be.
I'm with you Flamenco on this. Doing your own thing is about pleasing yourself (breaking the mould) and others happen to enjoy or approve as well it's a bonus. There were some fantastic examples done in the day.
I fitted one to my Big Block HQ Van and it looked awesome. Although anything is an improvement on the original Holden version. That said you don't do it to a real Sandman (these days).
It's very easy to be a sheep and leave things as standard. Buy in with the crowd and mock others who dare to be different. While this XC isn't me cup of tea the workmanship to get it blend the Holden panels with the Ford is done quite well. Much like a few Holden Vans that got Merc front ends and even the XB Falcon that got the Corvette nose.
Long live customs and those who dare!
