Its not black and white Still i've been listening to these arguements for 30 - 40 years and if [I]'m lucky 30 - 40 more. There is also the view point that goes I've bought a piece of automotive history and its the history of this particular vehicle that is also of value. Thats why Rod and Jennies malachite van really interests me, its because they seem to want to preserve its history whilst adding to it. What would really be sad is if someone bought this Ford hybrid van and restored it to original. Still you own it its yours to do what you like. My Dad was a real estate agent and he always said an objects only worth whats someone is prepared to pay for it.

Your dad is spot on.

If you own it do what you like and to heck with it all, its your money, people get hung up on that, I say if you like it, you paid just the right amount.
