I have bet on with a mate about when Holden changed from imperial on their nuts and bolts, to metric. He says around 1975 and I thought 18 October 1982. Any ideas.

If the 1975 TX Gemini was metric, he could be right!
1978 for the VB Commodore, 1980 for the WB.
I'm rebuilding a 1983 WB Panelvan using a 1984 WB Series II Caprice as a donor car and i can confirm that both cars are a combination of metric and imperial bolts. Holden obviously ran some sub assembly components with their original imperial BOM's right up until the demise of the range in 1985.
I thought HZ were all imperial nuts and bolts
I've never found a HZ with metric bolts. WB's I have pulled apart have some metric threaded body bolts with imperial heads on them.
Metric unheard of here.
Interesting thoughts. Thanks fellas.

My WB van is a strange combination of both. Engine and driveline is imperial but a lot of body bolts are metric and there is no pattern to where or when some are used.
Commodores were all metric except for engine/driveline until VL which was almost exclusively metric because of that imported engine.
Not sure about Gemini's but with full size Holdens it was a lot later than 1975 for sure.
Vans.... This is the 2nd time round the block, 40 years later! talk about turning back the clock!
