Looks good. But the trim code, 1890-18th?
Are you sure it's not 1890-18V?

If the trim is 18V those ID plates were originally on a HX XX7 Sandman van. Numbers all fit together fine so the plates almost certainly belong together.

It is a consecutive PSN with a few others I have recorded around it:

    L371976 (this one)
    L371977
    L371978
    L371980

They appear to be right on the changeover from 1/77 to 2/77 compliance. L371976 and 77 are 2/77 compliance and the other two are 1/77. The chassis numbers of them reflect this too and L37196 has the highest chassis number of the four.

    Yeah, it is 18V trim.
Also has full length hood lining, GTS dash, interior light buttons in door jams .
I can also see remnants of the sandman stripes on one side of the van.
Not sure about the seats, they appear to be the correct seats with slate grey vinyl around the back and bottom of seats but have a burgundy velour top and back. Stitching all looks original but I'm guessing they've been re trimmed.

Thanks for the help guy's. Unfortunately the body on this van is in very bad shape. Probably beyond repair. Original chassis, trim, driveline etc is all still ok so I'm thinking of trying to source a replacement shell for it.

Good luck with finding a replacement shell, they are just as hard as finding a decent Sandman. That's what happened with me, spent ages looking for a decent HX shell for my rusted out Sandman and ended up finding a pretty much rust free HJ Sandman. Hope you have better luck finding a shell than I did....

Yes. Good windowless shells are few and far between. I'm looking at one next week which unfortunately has a sunroof hole cut into it but is apparently straight and rust free. Fingers crossed . It would be great to see this van on the road again.

Sunroof hole is far easier to fill in than side windows.... You only need to make the outside perfect as the headlining hides the other side.
