Warning dont buy anything European
there is an old sayin if you dont know what to buy
buy Toyota![]()
I actually just got a call from Lexus as the RX350 new car warranty (and road service) runs out in August (4yo). It is only about $2k to extend full factory warranty for another 3 years and up to 150,000kM with roadside assist. It is a proper factory warranty, not an insurance policy warranty like some others offer. The warranty is transferable to another person, and can be cashed in at a pro-rata rate if say we traded it in in 2 years time with no major claims. The extended warranty also covers insurance excess if the car is insured through Toyota Insurance (which it is as it is heaps cheaper than others). Just a good plug for a Lexus product Blocker if that floats your boat. You might pick up a demo IS250 for under $45k - our RX350 is a Sports Luxury and were around $115k and I bought it as a demo at 10 months old for $65k.
Thanks for the input.
Holden make it confusing with all the different VF options in their range. I cannot tell the difference between a VF Lightening and Storm, just a set of stickers and some gloss black on parts. The Calais looks like a decent option vs Ford.
We had a 2012 3 series BMW, nice car but you don't want the ongoing services costs outside of warranty that's why we sold it. Obviously the Euro cars have had all the added features as standard that Holden and Ford have added as 'new innovations' recently.
Still deciding.
I looked at a Ralliart and Toyota 86 for my mrs but she didn't like either of them and the VE/F was toooo big! Big difference is cars though Blocker - it is like the definition of a girl's car at one extreme and on old man's car at the other!
The only advice i'd give is drive the Calais and then drive a G6E and compare. Apart from the VF SV6 I drove recently in Melbourne the G6E is the only Aussie car that I have driven that felt as good as my CV8. Hopefully the VF Calais is a big improvement over the VE (like the SV6 is) as those were nowhere near the car that the G6E was.
