I miss one heck of a lot of things about my many years in the NT. Territory Day was always a 'blast' in more ways than one. Most memorable one was at Mindl Beach about ten years ago when the 'official' fireworks set fire to one of the palm trees on the edge of the beach - of course the next couple started smouldering real quick. They were put out with 'beer spray' before the firies arrived.
It is one of those places you either love or hate.
