Yeah it wasn't good. Fairly constant on the wheel making corrections and it would dart around a bit under brakes. So if they were tightened in air, whats happens to the bush? Tearing, twisting?

Hey Valencia. I removed red Nolathane bushes to put these rubber ones in.

The rubbers are under constant load plus suspension movements they would look like yours in the photo .
I can remember getting a front end rebuild in the early 90’s picked it up it was terrible to drive I took it back the next day to complain the boss said to young bloke who did it did you tighten it in air or over the pit he said in the air he put it over the pit retentioned the bolts it was then back to the way it should be

An update on my poor control arm bush story. Went into Kingswood Country on Saturday to grab some gear, but remembered to drop the old bushes off to them. Guys were pretty good and said they'd follow up with Mackay who made them.

Anyway, got a call back today and apparently Mackay confirmed that the rubber compound had basically failed (turned to jelly) on my bushes. They also said that it sometimes happens (but rare) and i was unlucky to get these.

Ah well, at least i got an answer.

Yeah, Kingswood Country were pretty good. I got my other parts for free on Saturday, including an inlet manifold bolt kit for my 355 blown stroker...
