    The tailshaft is actually paint dark navy blue but the photo makes it a bit purple. If i find the correct paint code then its an easy correction to repaint.

    Today i did the hardest and most frustrating job in putting the fuel tank back in. I haven’t sworn so much in years but its in. I had to take tailshaft back out and putting the tank in was a nightmare on your own!!!

    Then connecting the breather lines and spring clips was super hard. Body off resto would have been easier.

    Then bent up rear brake lines and put them back in.

    Nearly ready for all fluids......

    This is a really good build. Just did a walk though of this thread again and can clearly see the good attention to detail going on.

    Believe it or not im just about done with cars sometimes its just to hard to find good people to restore these old jiggers
    and i haven't got the patience for so called panel beaters that promise the world and cant deliver
    If only i could weld

    I know I feel the same as well ... I love the old hz ute and van ...the expense is enormous the van is just going to have to wait ...
    I'm in the process of working on the ute myself that has the best body but still takes quite a bit of time and the money but I'm getting there so so slowly ...but getting there ...

    Hearing you. Luckily my WB is in good original condition. The chances of me ever getting my Sandman ute done are next to none. It sucks to have been wanting to restore one since 2000 and have to watch all the baby boomers waltz in and get theirs done. That’s life though.
