After a trip to the wreckers to take photos, I have managed to re-install all the cabling and air conditioning hoses back in the correct location. The original gauges have all been cleaned, with dials repainted and new rare spares Perspex.

Now that all the wiring is back in, its time to mate the gearbox and engine. I have painted the m21 gearbox and acid dipped the original bellhousing, that came up looking quite good. I painted the broadcast number on the box, now ready to be bolted up to 308 block. Not 100% sure of broadcast number? it could of been ZL or ZF, was too hard to read, either way its and easy fix (paint over) I just made a stencil.

Engine looks great, never seen exhaust manifolds so clean. Only ever seen 'rusty' effect ones

Thanks for the positive comments guys, my wife thinks I’ve gone to an new level of crazy with the detail. It’s my first full resto back to original and it’s definitely a lot harder than i originally thought. Finding all the relevant information or getting access to an original unrestored car has proved to be quite hard.

Hi all, it’s been a few months since the last update so I thought I would write a bit more and post some photos. I have been struggling to find information and detail on exact restoration and production picking slip or broadcast sheet numbers? The underneath is all done now, with rear axle back in.EDBC29CC-6DEF-493F-A962-9F2A23504376.jpeg

According to chat sites and what information I found, the front shock absorbers were black from factory and the rears on a style side ute were woodsman green. From what i have read the picking slip number was LF

Marked up nose cone for re-alignment with masking tape and removed total front section, which turned our super easy and quick for motor installation and no scratches.
