I put a RS one in mine about 8 years ago. Had no issues. Replaced it recently with one from KingswoodContry just because the coloumn was out and i also rebuilt the intermediate slip joint at the same time. I dont remember the KC one being that expensive.
Power steering and convensional steering are different. Possibly had the wrong one.
