Not sure on them. Having said that it still looks great and would be very desirable to someone with that sort of money.
I hope he does get it.
There's a handful of easily changeable things to bring her to factory stock condition...... Seats, dash, air filter, grille etc etc
That said, Salamander Red looks great.... Set of stripes and it will be a definite head Turner.
Wish he would post tag pics

This van is bodied with the HQ shell not the HJ as in the later 74 vans, which makes it even more desirable.
I like this bit. So late HQ Sandman's had a HJ shell, with the scuttle and dash support changed? I would have thought they had a HQ shell without the side vents stamped.

Well HX LE did have HJ shell with HX firewall fitted so they could have easily done the reverse with HQ vans.... Or just deleted the vents...

Well the side panels were changed for HJ but essentially the entire rest of the shell is HQ, I guess you can say they just eliminated the side vents in the HQ '74 update that got amongst it the KPH only speedo as much as say it was a HJ thing.

The 100 van myth is an interesting one. I think I saw it discussed that this could of possibly been the numbers of Sandman van bodies shipped to the Sydney plant but there would of been a lot more from Brissy and Adelaide notwithstanding the ute numbers.

That's a lot of money for a van, especially a 253 one. I would of thought there were a lot more desirable cars in front of this for that amount.

That's what I mean. Those HJ shells were built for HJ's and didn't get used before the introduction of HX. Rather than crush the lot they did the modifications to allow them to fit with the new model. I doubt you could ever say the late HQ van bodies were ever built with the intention of being a HJ van. Side panel stamping's possibly, but not the assembled body.

Really need Byron for this, but does anyone know why the vents were deleted midway through a model run? Was it water ingress issues? Cost saving measures? Design flaws with the newer heating systems? Stamping die wore out and they were planning on deleting for the next model anyway?

They were deleted about April/May in at least Adelaide but suspect it was when they ran out of HQ side panels and had begun stamping ventless ones maybe in preparation for them removed in the HJ. Mine is 5/74 Adelaide and doesn't have them.
