I really appreciate your input and yes it was my mistake sending the details of 2 cars both of which I'm looking at as options.

I contacted Ben at Holden Historical Services and both vehicles are genuine Sandmans if the chassis rail numbers match, which I'll have the sellers check.

This in mind, it seems the HJ and HX overlap is credible, so again idiosyncrasies of the Sandman prevail.

To those out their looking for peace of mind $90 can provide with the Holden database check by Ben, I thoroughly recommend it and without the fellow enthusiasts on this forum, I may have stumbled buying a non genuine vehicle.
