Just hook the positive to positive on a battery and negative to the earth terminal and pull back and release the adjustment knob and it should start on DC current if they are hooked up wrong the moter will run backwards Iam not sure if this will wreck a clock or not if the capacitor is no good they are cheap to replace and probably all that is wrong with a lot of them

Just hook power and earth to it. throw a 10amp fuse inline. Then see.

I do hope it works. If not ah well. the face will be new atleast and will just need a little repair.

Earth to clock body. 12 volt to power wire. Flick the adjuster knob and see if it powers up. It should work.

Not sure how he does it for $50? There is at least an hours work in it if it's only capacitors.

Since we have been restoring vans we have bought GTs gauges and fascias and clusters as they come up or we see them at swaps etc. front clips, upper rear tailgates with handles, and centre caps. Nos is best but gauges which have been behind lenses are usually pretty good and appear like new when new lenses are placed over them. We have two Hz and one hx complete GTs dash. When the time comes we will sell them to someone who needs them. Or sell one if we need to eat one day

The biggest think I have found is how faded the red is compared to the NOS ones. The red on the new gauges is sooooooooo much brighter than any great condition tacho or cluster I have or have seen. Maybe I should make a paint mask kit. So they could be resprayed..... hmmm.....
