mark,if you have 3.08 then you can only use 3.36 3.55 or 4.1 gears in that housing and you only need crown wheel and pinnion to do this..if you want 2.78 or 2.60 you will need the compatible housing and all gears and hemisphere..![]()

Thanks ozbox, that clears up some things i wasn't too sure about, im not wanting to change the housing or ratio just widening my search by looking for a complete rear assembly. All im wanting to do is swap the spider gears over because they are flogged out, rest or it seems in good shape. so i can only use the gears out of 3.08 to 4.1, is this correct?
Thanks, Mark
that is correct..if you only want your side gears i can do those for you...i sell a lot of my salisburies as gear sets without the hemi and side gears..i would have to see what ive got but they would be good gears.
That would be great, thanks.
so you can just swap over the side gears and keep the original hemisphere like you can in a bango?
Sorry for all the questions, just good to find someone that knows what they are talking about!
Mark
mark are the gears themselves pitted or chipped or is it that they are moving around in the hemi?
it may be just as easy to put the whole hemi in that already has good gears..
nah the gears are not pitted or chipped just seem to have alot of slop i them... probably would be easier to just replace the hemisphere, only thing is that i know the bearings on mine are still in good nick.
