Just scored an original HQ Sandman steering wheel.....and for comparison sakes, check out the original insert against the repro insert. Differences are subtle enough but obvious. Its like the old spot the difference game

You shouldn't have posted that up. Because now we will update ours ;) Obviously its slightly different to the pillar ones.

I scored one about twelve months ago Alien DNA and was doing some comparisons then and the difference is huge when you really look at them side by side. I hope you dont change yours Jason cos I could pick the repro in 2 seconds flat at car events etc.

the HX ute has an original HQ sandman steering wheel, I prob have that reproduction on the Malachite van, but as its custom its not an issue, good score Alien they are not easy to find...

I've seen plenty of fakes on ebay passed off as genuine. Get an original HQ steering wheel, remove the GTS emblem and put a repro Sandman emblem in that has been "weathered" a little. I've been able to pick them a mile away also.....
Jason, if you re-do the emblems can you engrave the back with "Stickthis" or something so scammers can be called out on passing them off as genuine????
Oh, and top score Ivan... originals are pretty scarce.
